Every year, we hold a conference for our community called Velocity. It's a way for us to showcase what we've been doing with Contensis and Insytful and share customer success stories with a group of like-minded peers.

A group of people sat in a circle talking at a digital conference

In past years, attendees have told us that some of the most valuable parts of the day were the networking opportunities and casual conversations they had with other digital professionals. That's why, at Velocity 2024, we decided to create a couple of sessions dedicated to this style of collaborative learning.

Our community campfire sessions provided a platform for valuable discussions around key themes shaping the future of content management with Contensis. We split our conference attendees into industry-segmented groups, and with the help of a Zengenti facilitator, they were asked a few questions;

Getting to know you

  • What's your biggest challenge or your team's primary focus in the next 12 months?
  • What's your most significant success in the past year?
  • What's your biggest failure in the past year?

How can Contensis and Zengenti support those goals?

  • What has been your team's primary focus recently?
  • How does Contensis / Insytful help you the most?
  • Where could Contensis / Insytful help you more?

Some groups stuck to the questions, and others went in their own direction. Either way, we did our best to capture all of the responses! Here's a summary of the focal points and learning from these sessions.

1. Content management

Groups discussed content quality, structure, and strategy. There was a focus on consolidating content into reusable formats and developing content production strategies to get the most out of Contensis.

2. Using Contensis

It was great to hear how Contensis has helped to consolidate content and streamline workflows. Users find it easy to use, aiding content migration, collaboration, and quick adaptation to roles. Clearer, practical documentation of some features was also mentioned.

3. Accessibility and user experience (UX)

Accessibility is still a recurring priority, and the goal is to make digital content more inclusive. There is also an interest in user-centred design and a desire for more examples of effective implementation on websites.

4. SEO

Search engine visibility was a common theme, probably due to Lauren and Reem's excellent presentation! Practical strategies for improving content ranking and visibility were mentioned across the groups.

5. Team collaboration and planning

Groups highlighted the need for their teams to develop performance standards, establish best practices, and anticipate future needs. Some also mentioned difficulties in managing changing organisational goals and effective stakeholder engagement. Aligning expectations and maintaining consistent communication can be pain points.

6. Innovation and the use of AI

Using AI for image generation and content enhancement was suggested as a potential way to streamline editor tasks and increase consistency. Challenges were noted in the use of AI in areas where measuring its effectiveness is difficult. Teams want clearer metrics to get an understanding of AI's impact on content management tasks.

7. Help and training

Many of you are looking for practical support and training resources to make managing content easier. You've highlighted the need for simple tools, training tailored to specific tasks, and ongoing guidance on best practices around accessibility and content strategy.

Moving forward

Velocity 2024 allowed our community to engage in open discussions, share experiences, and explore challenges together. The campfire sessions encouraged honest conversations around content strategy, accessibility, team collaboration, and innovation, offering practical insights into how Contensis and Insytful can be used more effectively.

The feedback we gathered is already helping shape our roadmap and refine our support and training resources. Your experiences and perspectives are essential as we continue improving our platforms and enhancing our support of your work.
